Hurricane
Katrina had a devastating effect on southeast Louisiana as it
swept across the Gulf Coast. One month later, Hurricane Rita
dealt a similar blow to southwest Louisiana, including flooding
over 10,000 homes here in Terrebonne Parish. Like
many of our friends and neighbors, the events of this past
hurricane season will forever be emblazoned in our hearts and
minds. Our hearts go out to the victims.
Our thanks go out to the heroes. Our pleas go out to a
nation to respond. The following video was
made in the weeks after Katrina tore through the Gulf Coast. "My

Own Two Hands" Video made to thank all of the
people who volunteered and continue to help the Gulf Coast
recover. Click to watch via computer. Or you can view

videos meant a lot to me to make, and judging by the response I've
received from across the country, they have meant a lot to many of
you as well. Thanks to so many of you who have written and
shared your stories with us. It has truly been humbling to
know the distance these videos have traveled and the impact they
have had. Bruce Springsteen's and
Ben Harper's lyrics
could not have been more perfect for the situation at hand.
And the countless photographers who took the images provided great
insight into our region's tragedy. A contribution to any of
the relief efforts listed below would be greatly
appreciated!
